Move to Bali

Writing this on Nyepi. A Balinese holiday that requires you to stay inside for 24 hours

The elusive “flow state.”
Something I found most often during the summer of 2020, when I was writing every morning. When parts of the world came to a pause and many were sadly forced into lockdown.

I remember those days and wondered:
What if this lockdown wasn’t temporary?
What if it was my fate for decades? For life?

Who lives like that already?
Prisoners.
Animals in cages.
Sea creatures in glass tanks.
Probably more, but those came to mind.

During that time, I was confined to a tiny apartment I was renting in Seville, Spain. Maybe I could’ve handled it better if I were in a stronger mental state, but within a week, I folded. I needed out. I needed to go home. And I did.

Thank God I did.
