Brazil Is The Greatest Country On Earth
Should we ruin it like we did everywhere else?
It will be interesting to see the coming years as more and more people come to the realisation that Brazil is a marvel. This year already you’ve seen a tremendous amount of foreigners coming to visit and then staying well past their initial planned trip.
I won’t go into the exact details on why Brazil is superior, but understand that I’m 31 and I’ve lived and traveled abroad since I was 19. I’ve visited 40+ countries and have lived— as defined by staying somewhere longer than 3 months —in Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Spain, Portugal, Indonesia, U.S. and London (I consider that city as a separate experience to any other place in England).

When a country generates as much hype as Brazil has, I can’t help but be fearful in what might happen to the lived identity when a massive influx of new people arrive and settle there. The thing that I’m most concerned about changing isn’t necessarily the cost of specific things, but rather, the abstract concept of Brazilian culture- the warmth, the openness, the joy and kindness that is transformative to anyone coming from another part of the world.
