There are two forms of travel: 

• The checklist tour. Think monuments, churches, group tours with dorky well-rehearsed one liners that make the sock-wearing, sandal-clad, sunburnt, structure-loving Germans laugh in blissful compliance. Ha Ha Ha

• The Hero’s Journey. If you’re unfamiliar with it, you've seen it a hundred times. In movies, shows, books, and even your own life. A story arc where the traveler returns changed, not just tan.
